Meet the experts: David Bryan

David Bryan, our Chief Financial Officer with a wealth of experience in financial management, talks about his journey to becoming our new CFO, his leadership style, and his expectations at FIECON.
What was your journey to becoming CFO at FIECON? What will you be responsible for?

I've been an accountant for 25 years. Throughout my career, I've worked in professional consultancy services, which led me to develop a specialisation in both consultancy and finance. I'm responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the business. This includes improving financial profitability and the processes and systems that govern and support it.

How would you describe your leadership style and how does it align with the culture of FIECON?

My leadership style is very open and engaging. I like to set goals and targets for people and believe in accountability, both for myself and my team. I expect tasks to be delivered on time and accurately. At the same time, I am an understanding leader and recognise that goals can change. I think this aligns well with FIECON's culture because it's a collaborative, open, and engaging business, especially from a financial perspective. I believe there is an opportunity for us to integrate more deeply into the wider business.

What are you most looking forward to at FIECON?

I am looking forward to the opportunity to apply my problem-solving skills to tricky challenges, using my creativity and zeal to drive mutually beneficial solutions. I'm confident that my ability to think both clearly and laterally will enable me to quickly build effective strategies and solutions to meet evolving needs and contribute to the future success of FIECON.
